While our country was engaged in the first year of the American Civil War, our congregation was organized in November of 1861, and has worshipped in this city since that date. The first church was constructed in 1863 and served the congregation until 1901, when the present church structure was completed. Since 1868, the congregation has maintained a Christian Day School. The building presently in use on Bluff Street is the congregation’s third school building. From it’s small beginnings, the congregation has experienced a steady growth and currently serves around 950 souls. Our modern-day St. Paul’s Church offers a wide variety of ministries to people of all ages.
In order to accomodate a growing congregation, it became necessary to expand upon our beautiful church building and create more parking to serve our flock. The expansion required losing our parsonage to make room for a new narthex and fellowship hall. The new expansion added office space for our pastors, a main church office, a welcoming narthex area, and a large fellowship hall with full kitchen. It also gave us the opportunity to install an elevator and create a whole children's ministry area in the expanded basement (which is currently serving as our daycare center).
St. Paul's aims to foster deep, enduring bonds between individuals and their Savior. We achieve this through meaningful worship experiences and a diverse range of ministries that foster genuine, authentic relationships among Christians. Our mission is to cultivate a nurturing space where everyone uplifts one another in living out their faith and helps guide others towards a profound connection with their Savior.
