Isaiah 30:21 – “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, “this is the way; walk in it. “

Kelly Otterstatter grew up in San Jose California where her mom taught and her dad was the principal at a WELS grade school. That childhood led her to love and appreciate the dedication, time, and care that teachers give.

While Kelly was in school she worked as the lead teacher in the infant and toddler room at a Lutheran daycare. Once graduated from UWM, Kelly began her teaching ministry at St. Marcus Lutheran School In Milwaukee WI. During those 6 years, she fell in love with the students, families, and staff.

It took meeting her husband Ben to get her to leave the city and move to Watertown, WI. Once there, the Lord once again guided her steps and opened the door to St. Paul’s. (Fun fact, She’s not the first Otterstatter to teach here! Grandpa Otterstatter taught back in 60’s)

She has now fallen in love with a whole other set of students, families, and staff. Teaching is Kelly’s happy place. She loves learning through the students eyes and creating a Kindergarten family.

When she’s not in the classroom she is most likely in the kitchen baking or spending time decorating her home. Ben and Kelly restored an old farm house so there is always work to do! Her husbands family owns and operates a wedding venue where she spends most weekends helping.

She looks forward to watching the growth of St. Paul’s and to see how God continues to bless this school.
