Romans 8:38-39 – For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, neither things present nor things to come, nor powerful forces, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Mrs. Vik joined the St. Paul’s family when she accepted the call to teach 7th & 8th grade and upper grades math in 2015. She graduated from Martin Luther College in 2005 and taught 5th & 6th grades for one year at Hope Middle School in Milwaukee while her husband, Matthew, began his training at the Seminary. It was at that time that they also began their family, so she took several years off from full-time teaching in order to raise their four children – Maria, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Samson.

While she is a native Wisconsinite, Mrs. Vik spent most of her childhood down south. first in Birmingham, AL and then in Conyers, GA, a suburb of Atlanta. There was one Lutheran grade school in Georgia at the time, which she and her two brothers attended. It was at that time that her teacher, a recent DMLC grad, encouraged her to think about the ministry. She attended a local private high school, during which time her math teacher also encouraged her to think about teaching. She then headed to Martin Luther College, where she met her husband, Matthew, and earned her degree in Elementary and Secondary Education with an emphasis in math.

Mrs. Vik now serves St. Paul’s School as upper grades teacher, chimes director, and organist. She loves playing the piano and organ, baking, gardening, biking, and skiing, and she also enjoys watching Wisconsin sports, although not quite as much as her husband does, and spending time with her family.
