Class of 2023 Confirmation Events

This year there are twelve young members of St. Paul’s who will profess their faith in our Lord through the Rite of Confirmation. The schedule for confirmation is as follows:

Confirmation Essays- The first event for the Confirmation Class of 2023 will happen on Sunday, April 30 in the 9:00 am service. In this service the Confirmation Class will be reading their Essays to the congregation, professing what they have learned in their Bible Information Classes about God and his Word.

Confirmation Examination- Then, on the following Thursday, May 4 in the 6:30 pm service the Confirmation Class will have examination with Pastor Vik. The Confirmands will answer questions about the teachings of the Bible (the 10 Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, the Sacraments of Holy Baptism & the Lord’s Supper, the use of the Keys and Confession, the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creed.) Following the Examination, there will be a reception for the Confirmation Class, their families and friends in the Fellowship Hall.

Rite of Confirmation- The Rite of Confirmation will be on Sunday, May 7th in a special 10:30 am service. In this service, the Confirmands make a life-long promise to remain faithful to God and to follow his word. The pastor then blesses them with the laying of his hand upon them and giving them their Bible verse. The Confirmands then receive their first Holy Communion as full members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

God’s blessings to the Confirmation Class of 2023. May they remain faithful in keeping their promise to our Lord
so that they will receive the gift life!
