John 13:7 — Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

Amber Barcalow grew up in Kenosha Wisconsin where her mother works for IEA and her father works for WE Energies. Her brother followed in his footsteps and works for WE Energies as well. Thor (her parent’s dog) and Jameson (her brother's dog) are normally sleeping all day or going to daycare!

While Amber was attending Shoreland Lutheran and Martin Lutheran College she had 8 different jobs! After graduating from MLC in December of 2021 she followed an opportunity offered to her. She was the Financial Wellness Trainer at MLC in the Financial Aid department. She spent a year and a half traveling to our WELS high schools and some public schools around the country. She was helping families get prepared for college while also sharing the tips and tricks she had learned through her college years. This job was truly special and she was able to meet a lot of spectacular people during the journey. In May of 2023 she decided to take a call and God guided her to St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Fort Atkinson, WI.

Since her call she has grown so close to the families and their students here at St. Paul’s! This is something she has dreamed about since she was in Kindergarten. She is so thankful to God for bringing her to this special congregation!

When she’s not in the classroom she is most likely in the gym, hiking, playing intramural sports, hanging out with friends in the area or traveling to Kenosha to visit family and friends. She looks forward to her first year of teaching and praying for guidance to help bring God’s light to this school.
