Pastor Matthew Vik
Pastor Vik grew up in Appleton, WI and attended St. Peter’s Lutheran, Freedom, WI and Fox Valley Lutheran High School, Appleton, WI. His Lutheran School teachers and his pastors encouraged him along the way to pursue the ministry. Matthew decided to attend Martin Luther College to prepare for the ministry where he met Jennifer Levy who became his wife two weeks after graduating.
After two years at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, he served his Vicar Year at Messiah Lutheran Church, Green Bay and was blessed to be close to home and spend time with his parents before God in His wisdom took his father home to heaven. Since Pastor Vik was very close to his father, life as a student became difficult but the Lord used a tour of the Holy Land to help him. Renewed by the experience of “walking where our Savior walked” he returned to pursue preparing for full time work in the ministry.
He was assigned to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wrightstown, WI where he served for six years before accepting the Call to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson.
His wife Jennifer is also a graduate of MLC and has accepted a Call to teach upper grade math and 7th & 8th grade at St. Paul’s School and serve as another organist at church. They are blessed with four children: Maria, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Samson.
